Throughout my business career, I’ve worked with the boards of many companies, executing tactical and highly focused boots-on-the-ground corporate governance administration for over 35 years.
I’ve sat at board tables in public, private, and nonprofit organizations as both a board member and administrator. Television, newspaper and magazine publishing, big-pharma, consumer products, life insurance, women’s crisis outreach, and developmental disabilities. I've always collaborated with the top brass and, as a result, have been handed many incredible opportunities to support some pretty fascinating characters. I’ve learned so much about people and the world around me through these valuable experiences. It’s been an extraordinary journey that has survived economic booms and recessions, corporate mergers and dissolutions, and a few nonprofit fundraising successes and failures.
I experienced the birth of the technological revolution, which radically changed business workflow, and was overjoyed when tedious processes were finally automated. It hasn't been easy. More often than not, I've overcome hurdles through sheer ambition, tenacity, trial, and error simply because there hasn't been a playbook available to follow. At each turn, many challenges became big opportunities for me to figure out ways to do things smarter, better, and supportively for my team. What I do know for sure is that properly executed governance administration can have a massive impact on leadership and the overall trajectory of an organization. Over the years, it has helped me cultivate a disciplined approach to balancing all aspects of stakeholder interests and develop effective corporate governance reporting standards and methodologies.
The boardroom is the corporate command post. It’s where the top guns meet to make sure that the organization is on track. The importance of governance administration board readiness and how it contributes to being able to master the boardroom cannot be understated.
My aim is to share my hard-earned knowledge and help bring meaning and purpose to your professional journey, showing you how to drive success with proven corporate governance administration processes that can be implemented over and over again.
